The RXN600 comes equipped with and Ethernet connection for easy integration in a home network. It offers a USB input on the front panel to easily connect your portable audio player or flash memory device and comes equipped with a rear panel port that easily connects to the optional YDS10 iPod Dock. The YDS10 dock lets you listen to iPod music, watch iPod image slideshows, play iPod videos on the best system in your house. Compatibility with DNLA and MusicCAST means that that RXN600 brings you one step closer to creating a seamless environment for sharing digital media and content. When music is encoded in a digital compressed format such as MP3, frequency response suffers in the high and low ranges. Yamaha employs sophisticated digital signal processing with exclusive algorithms to enable playback that reproduces the original quality of the music. The RXN600 brings channels of superior digital audio into your home using XM's revolutionary Connect-and-Play technology (subscription to XM is required). Simply connect the Zone 2 audio output of this receiver to an external amplifier to power the second zone and control both zones by using the supplied remote control.

Great Product 5
I bought this Receiver to replace an older Harmon Kardon unit. Found it on a special sale and could not let it go. I have been using it for a few weeks now. It has loads of features, some of which I have yet to use. BUT it's number one benefit is the crystal clear sound at all power levels.

Not bad at all... 4
Bought this unit about a month ago through Amazon. I must agree with most reviewers that all in all, it is a very decent unit for the price range.

I have the unit connected to my home gigabit network, with satellite internet, DirecTV DVR, DVD recorder, Bose speakers, and a Mediagate MG-35 with 750Gb media drive. So far, the unit has performed impressively well. It took me several evenings to set up the system and get it tweaked to my satisfaction, but my overall impressions have been quite positive. It has communicated flawlessly with all of the other components, including pulling music and video off of my home computer, and the internet radio is a real plus.

The speaker dynamics and tonal qualities are all adjustable to accomodate both environment and speakers, and, although an automatic adjustment system would help immensely, after a bit of experimentation, I was able to set the acoustics up in a very satisfactory manner. Sound is crisp, even at higher volume levels, without the muddiness heard with lesser quality amp circuitry.

Cons: The Remote, while useful and fairly logical, should have had a learning mode. I'm still stuck with three remotes. In addition, the receiver has a fairly steep learning curve, and the manual does not always provide the clearest explanation and instructions. Thus, the less technically inclined could find setup a frustrating experience.

Conclusion: Overall a reasonable and flexible midrange receiver with a good mix of features not often found together at this price range. Good sound, so-so remote, and manual good but could be better.

A great deal! 5
This is a great home theater receiver. If you have, like me, a 4ohms,6 ohms and 8 ohms speakers,it's the deal!! I'm not using USB and Network for the moment but, for home theater it's great. Thanks Amazon!!

Sounds great; too many features for me 4
If you love gadgets and remote controls with 55 buttons (no less), this is the receiver for you! We use it with our TV/Cable/DVD and also an AirPort to play from iTunes to. It sounds great about 80% of the time. The other 20% of the time, some of the speakers aren't playing or it's muffled or bass-y because something has been reset, and I will have to spend 10 minutes getting it to work right and sound good again. Often this involves pulling out the user manual. Holy guacamole, that remote control is COMPLICATED!! (I think my family sits on it or something, because I don't know how else the settings get changed.) There are also quite a few sound options (Hall in Vienna, Roxy Theater, ... how does one decide???) Sometimes this receiver makes me long for the 1980s, but I get this sense it is not unique in this regard.

Good Value (But) 4
The amp and sonic processing modes work fine for my set up (3 ch + line powered sub). The FM section works better for me than the old, dead Denon. Everything works better, actually and for the price, I'm very pleased. The video upscaling from composite and S-VHS to component works fine. Not a big thing for my usage, a value add that I might use on a blue moon.

Four stars for me. Remember that while you read my nitpicks:

The remote is OK at best, if it has your gear's codes in it. At this price point I didn't expect perfection.

The Manual is odd. It's correct and complete. It looks reasonable but organized much different than my mind flows and doesn't describe how that side button and the main buttons work (or don't or do wrong). Not a big issue for me.

Those Networking features? If any of them work it would be icing on the cake. The internet radio works fine. It's a fixed list of stations but sufficient for me. Playing music from the home server? You probably shouldn't count on that working unless your version of Windows is old (but not too old). It's crippled as a UPnP device and any DLNA or DAAP server is not likely to work. It's first generation Microsoft crippled protocols. I knew that before I bought it.

Nice piece of gear for $229.
