Great earphones
The earphones I purchased are the best earphones under $100 that I know of, and I use them to make a living. I could not find them at any electronics store, but naturally I found them on the net, specifically Amazon.
Terrible headphones!!
I just bought these cheap headphones!! Looks nice but not are functional!! I expect good and strong sound quality!! But really doesn't worth a penny!! Terrible sound,!! Dont buy these!
Get quality sound with uncomfortable ears
-- Sound quality: It is a decent product if you use on airplanes. It does indeed cancel all that noise of the plane. If you use them in a noisy environment, such as a coffee shop, you definitely see a difference, but it is not like you are sound proof.. Overall I think it has decent sound and noise canceling properties.
-- Comfort: It is not very comfortable. You cannot wear these and sleep. The neck band is weird and it pushes the headphones away from your ears if you use a pillow or lie down. Also, the part over the ears sometimes make my ears hurt. I can't use them more than half an hour without readjusting.
PS: The 'most helpful' review is wrong. Headphones do work even if you don't have batteries. You only need batteries to use noise canceling.
Many bad qualities
Apparently this product is discontinued, but you can use the reviews here as a guide on what not to buy in the future. Buyer beware and all that.
I too found the noise canceling nonexistent. Apparently it works for some units in some instances and not in others.
The neckband was in no way adjustable. This was not a major problem for me, but it was inconvenient.
The noise canceling unit was mounted in a very inconvenient location. Ultimately, that is what ruined my unit--I was pulling it out of a bag and the noise canceling unit snagged on something and I pulled the wire just enough to cause a short. A better-designed device would not have suffered this problem.
stunned
I was stunned when I opened these headphones up and used them for my MP3 player. All I can say is they were terrible. My ear buds that came with my MP3 player sounded better than these headphones. The Philips HN050 is not worth the money. I will be returning these immediately.
