Customer reviews

This heat sink is awesome. 5
In my opinion this heatsink fan system is the best air cooling you can get for a CPU. I have ran mine for 2 years now on an overclocked P4 HT, I tried other heat sink coolers and they could hold there own...when loud. This is amazinly quiet, my case fan is louder than it, my temp went from 80 C peak to 42C peak. Now the only heat problems I have are my VGA...working on that now. That is what reminded me to write this review.

SO IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A SINGLE AIR COOLER for your CPU. Buy this. You wont be disapointed. Just use a diffrent thermal paste.

Easy 4 hour installation 4
Make no mistake, installing this fan will take time, but in the end it is worth the effort because it will lower your CPU temperature.

The instructions include more than 50 postage stamp sized photos and are printed on one sheet of 8x11.5" paper. Fewer larger photos would be more helpful.

It will be easier to install if you're building a new system, or if you have a case where the motherboard support plate removes from the case.

You will need to attach the backplate for the fan to the back of the motherboard.

I had problems getting to the screws to reattach my motherboard to the case once the fan was installed, because the fan is much larger on the top than the bottom. Putting the back plate on, installing the motherboard back in the case, and then installing the fan is also an option, but now the computer's power supply will make it hard to tighten the nuts that hold it in place.

When I first fired it up, it sounded like a Cesna preparing for takeoff. Fortunately, within a couple of minutes the noise went away, and it's now very quiet.

But this fan cut the temperature of my CPU by more than half. My CPU was running between 78 and 93 degrees Celsius with periodic unexpected shutdowns. Now the CPU is running between 37 and 42C, so while it took a lot of time to get it installed, it was worth the effort.

If you need a customized CPU heatsink, get this one 5
Almost no noise at all, keeps my Q6600 at 34`, I overcloked it to 2.8

very cool 5
This fan keeps my system very cool. My dual core cpu was overheating a bit until I got this fan.

Not so good. 2
The deal was average but when I got the heatpipe I couldn't install the fan because the fan wasn't built for my motherboard. There was a lack of information about the product. So I now have an expensive heatsink laying on my desktop cause I can't use it even when the description said it was for my motherboard too.
