Price/performance - The best you can get!! 4
Being a gamer and having recently upgraded my motherboard and the cpu a new graphics card was of course a must. I read a lot of reviews on different cards and what finally made me buy it was when i read that you could play a game like battlefied 2414 on max resolution with max details.

Now to the facts. When it came i was positively surprised that it didn't even need en extra power connector. Another plus is the fact that it doesn't come with a fan but is *silent cooled* so it really is very quiet. Finally i have to say that it actually exceeded my expectations in terms of graphics power. resolution of 1440*900 playing bF 2142 max details is not a problem for this card.
Reason i only gave 4 stars is that the performance for playing ghost recon is definitely too poor.

Conclusion : Price/performance - the best you can get!!!!!

Nice midrange board for the $$$ 4
If you're an Nvidia guy, have just upgraded your motherboard to PCI Express, and are on a tight budget, this may be the card for you.

MSI's engineering always shines, and this board is no exception. If you were running any Nvidia GPU except a 6800Ultra or up in your old AGP slot, then you will see a noticable performance difference with this 7600GS, and you now have support for all the new Nvidia rendering technologies like CineFX4.0, HD Hardware Acceleration, and Ultra Shadow II. Also, the 7600GS uses the same 128-bit wide memory bus and onboard 256MB GDDR2 just like its big brother, the 7600GT. 12 pixel pipes and an 800MHz memory clock push Unreal 2004, Quake 4, and Battlefield 2 at max settings, and we were pleasantly surprised with the 3DMark05 scores but I wont list them since we were running tests with a 4600+CPU.

One of the best features of this board is its low power requirement, so you wont need a massive power supply to keep it running, and generates very little heat. The low profile heatsink you see in the photo has a small heatpipe underneath that evenly distributes the heat evenly throughout the heatsink, and coupled with the new memory architecture this board is easily overclockable which will come in handy at higher frame rates.

The package has 2 VGA adapters in the box along with component video and S-Video cables. A nice Brothers in Arms game is included, but beware the MSI software that comes bundled with this unit as it is largely worthless. Also note that some versions of this card have a small fan on the heatsink that has no shield over so be careful with fingers, wires, and cables.

All in all a pretty good bang for the buck. A small move up the price scale to the eVGA 512M 7600GS is also highly recommended. And dont forget to update your drivers on installation.
