Customer reviews

Cheap 1
Very good price but it is poorly made. It arrived with 2 blades broken but it still worked so I figured we would still use it. One week later another blade broke off with no rough handling. The fan blades must be very weak and they seem to get stuck and then break.

For the undecided 4
Many of the reviews will leave you confused so I understand why you can't decide; all the while the price still tempts you like a rat does a cobra. Allow me to clarify. The chillpad is very light, it does NOT come with an AC adaptor. It powers sufficiently through the usb port. It comes with a usb cable only. That's all you need. No need for an AC adaptor and xtra wires. The fans are not noisy at all. They are quieter than my Targus USB-Chill Hub. Eforcity and Amazon offer great customer service. Add all this to the price and it's a no brainer, you'd think I work them. Only negatives are cheaper materials and structure as far as ports lining up perfectly may lead to loss of functionality and long term durability. While researching, my main concern with other reviews was the noise factor and there isn't any. For the price, it's the best chill pad on the planet!

the good and the bad 4
ok this cooling fan is very quiet almost can't hear it. other reviews are worng on this this is very quiet, and is very good for price and also hase 4 usb ports wich are very useful. with that said it is plastic and very flimsy the usb ports are a very tight fit and just all in all not put togeather very well i could see if you have a heavy laptop it could push on the fram making it hit the fans making noise but i have an ibm very light and powerful laptop with no air vents on bottom so it would heat up quite a bit. after recieving this didn't think it would help much but after acidentally leaving my laptop on overnight yesterday i found it to be fairly cool was still warm to touch but not hot as usual this is a very god, it will cool but as i stated above it is very flimsy and dousn't come with power adapter guessing it is sold seperatly . air flow design works very well but it will bend easily and is made of weak plastic. if this was made with aluminum and usb ports where better construcked this would be top of the line but it is not. you get what you pay for. i guess.

Very Good Item, Value for your Money 5
Serve as a cooling Fan and a 4 port USB2 Hub. Fan runs smoothly and without noise. First one was defective but it was replaced very quickly by Eforcity.
Slightly smaller base for a 17 inch laptop but sits OK.

Excellent laptop companion, a must have, to cool it down. 5
I have two notebook cooling pad that we uses daily for the last six months and still working great. Now I need one for my new 17" laptop. For less than $20, I paid for; I was not expecting it to come with an extra charger which defeats portability. My laptop is plug on an electrical outlet most of the time, so It does not need one.

I have a Dell Inspiron 15" laptop and for over a year, I need a magazine to cover the palm rest to type, that's how hot this baby is until I discovered the cooling pad. You have to align as closely as possible the fan outlet from the laptop and the cooling pad. The cooling pad suck-up the heat from the laptop and blows it out to the rear. If the fan is noisy, two things might be happening, first your fan might be defective, or you might be leaning on your laptop and it presses the top cover of the fan that produces the noise. I don't hear the fan unless I have to really listen. I bought it because it's cheap and obviously made from cheap materials but it does an excellent job for what its worth. I don't see it under my laptop anyway. For balance I'm looking for a 17 inch.
